Our Weekly Competitions
Auckland Underwater Hockey currently runs three weekly competitions:
· A casual social league is held at Glen Innes pool on Sunday nights. This league currently involves scratch games, where anyone of any level can turn up and teams are made up on the night. All players are welcome – be there by 7.15pm, and bring $5 for the night.
Contact Allan Bullot (email@example.com) if you have any questions or want any more info.
· The B and C-grade leagues are held at Henderson West Wave Aquatic Centre on Wednesday nights. Teams are made in advance and play in several round robin competitions throughout the year.
Contact Steve Turner (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details or to register your interest in joining a team.
· The A and Premier-grade league is held at Manurewa Aquatic Centre on Thursday nights. Teams compete to take home the Cole Cup, with at least two competition rounds held each year. Trials are held regularly, and teams change between each round to make sure the competition is tough and even. From this year, both Pakuranga and Fins clubs will field teams for this competition.
If you’re interested in trialling or want more info, contact John Cole (email@example.com) or your club representative.
There are currently two clubs in Auckland – Pakuranga and Fins – both of which sit underneath Auckland UWH Inc. Both clubs have a strong player base and field competitive teams for the North Island Club Championships (held in May/June each year) and the National Interclub Championships (typically held in September/October).
